Publishing online Help from DITA content. - Unica Corporations documentation team is moving from authoring in FrameMaker to authoring in XML using DITA. We chose ePublisher for building online help from XML source and joined the Quadralay DITA Early Adopter program. In eight weeks we designed and produced a fully functional WebWorks Help 5.0 system indistinguishable from projects produced with our FrameMaker source output. This presentation outlines Unicas journey with ePublisher, specifically:

• Scope of Unicas documentation project
• Our hurdles (XML conditions, hard deadline)
• How we overcame these hurdles
• Releasing on time
• Using the ePublisher solution going forward

About the Speaker

Zoe Lawson is currently a technical writer at Unica Corporation in Waltham, MA. Before Unica, she was the sole writer at OpenService, Inc. for five years, where she was responsible for all the documentation for two enterprise products. Both at OpenService and Unica, she has been heavily involved in FrameMaker template and WebWorks stationery design. At Unica, Zoe has developed ePublisher templates for both FrameMaker and DITA-compliant XML.
