One of the major benefits of ePublisher Express is that you can produce multiple types of output with a single project if your Stationery file contains multiple target formats. A format target is based on a specific output format (e.g., WebWorks Help 5.0, HTML Help, JavaHelp, etc.), but it contains user defined customizations that are specific to a project.
Oftentimes, the target name is different than the output format name. For example, you might have a target format named OnlineHelpFormat, which is based on the WebWorks Help 5.0 output format, or you can have a target format named WebWorks Help 5.0 based on the WebWorks Help 5.0 format.
In ePublisher Express, you can choose the active format target used by your project. The active format target refers to the target format currently selected for your project. Whenever you want to generate output or modify format settings for a format target, you must have the correct format target selected as the active target.
Every project must contain at least one format target or else you will not be able to generate output for your project. If your Stationery does not contain any format targets, you will not be able to add any format targets.
