Using conditions, you can set the visibility of content within your generated output. Conditions allow you to show or hide information in your online output. You can do so by applying conditions to the content in your source document and setting the visibility for those conditions in your project. Any content that has a condition applied to it is referred to as conditional text.
For example, your source documents might contain information that is used only in the print version and information that is used only in the online version. In order to reuse your source documents for both print and online Help, you need to create conditions specifically for the online content and for the print content and apply the conditions to the appropriate content.
When you create a condition, you need to set the hidden attribute for the condition. If the conditional text will be visible in the source document, then the hidden attribute should not be selected; however, if the conditional text will not be visible in the source document, then the hidden attribute should be selected. You can also specify that the condition use document value, which is the default behavior.
In Microsoft Word, you can create conditions to either show or hide content within your output. These conditions can be set up so that you can tag content to either be visible or not visible when your online output is generated.

In your Word document, select WebWorks > Conditions. |

Select Hidden if you do not want the content to appear in the Microsoft Word document or leave Hidden deselected if you want the text to appear in the source document. |
5. |

In your source documents, you have set certain visbilities for your conditions; however, in your ePublisher Express project, you can modify the visibility for each condition. The conditions that are available in your project come directly from your source documents. You can modify the value for any of your conditions, which in turn, will affect how your conditional text displays online.
In ePublisher Express, you can set the visibility of your conditions to one of the following:
Visible: Select this if you would like the conditional text to appear in your output. |
Hidden: Select this if you would like the conditional text to not display in your output. |
Use document value: Select this if you would like ePublisher Express to use the visibility you have assigned the condition in the source document. |
1. |
In your ePublisher Express project, select Format > Conditions. |
3. |
Click on the dropdown button in the Value field next to the condition you would like to modify. |
